Established in the summer of 2006, Anchor Insurance Group, Inc. is an affiliation of 3 independant insurance agencies in Ashtabula & Lake counties, Ohio.

• The Hanson Insurance Agency was established in the Fall of 1975 by Chuck and Alice Hanson, in Conneaut, Ohio.  That same year, Ray Tylman and Tom Erb established their insurance agencies in Conneaut and Painesville, Ohio respectively.  In 1982, Chuck purchased the Bob Peltoma Insurance Agency in Painesville where he shared office space with Tom Erb and John Hood on Mentor Avenue.  In 1984, their son Jim joined the agency, followed by their other son Mike, in 1991.  In 1994, Jim purchased the Myron Dreslinski Insurance Agency in Conneaut, Ohio.  The Dreslinski Agency was the compilation of several agencies started by Walter Paull, Wes Tickner, and many others in the Ashtabula County area, going back to 1909.  In 2006, Chuck Hanson, Ray Tylman, and Tom Erb merged together to form Anchor Insurance Group, Inc.  In 2015, Mr. Tylman retired, followed by Mr. Erb in 2019.

Mike Hanson — President

Conneaut Office – Licensed since 1991 . Attended Kent State University. Licensed for Property & Casualty, Bonds, Life and Health . Specializing in Personal and Commercial Lines.

Jim Hanson — Vice President

Mentor Office – Licensed since 1986 for Life Insurance and licensed in 1987 for Property & Casualty. Specializing in Personal and Commercial Lines.

April Burlingham — CISR

Conneaut Office – Office Manager.  April has been with our agency since 2014 and came to us with 14 years experience in the Emergency Services field. She is an Associate graduate of Colorado Technical University and recently obtained her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. She has her Property/Casualty insurance license and is also a Notary Public. She currently is in training for the Life & Health insurance licensing exam and specializes in Personal & Commercial Lines at this time. Outside of the office, you will find her active in a local bowling league or at a youth sporting event cheering on her children and other team players.

Fengling Hanson — Licensed Agent

Fengling has been with the agency since March of 2022. She is licensed for Property & Casualty and Life and Health related products (Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage Plans and Long Term Care). She enjoys working with her husband Jim at the office and spending time with their son and other family. She is active at her church, enjoys traveling, and the outdoors, especially visiting National Parks. She is also an avid reader and loves to research natural health cures to help the sick, along with prayer.
